Every way out leads back to Automatic.

Controlling Mac fan speed should never be a gamble. AeroMac only changes fan speeds while it can see what it's doing. When anything goes wrong, control goes back to macOS, and the app never hides which state your fans are in.

AeroMac quits or crashes

The helper sees the app disconnect and hands the fans back.

Automatic

The helper stops

Fans return to macOS when the privileged helper terminates.

Automatic

Your Mac goes to sleep

Before sleep, the fans are handed to the system.

Automatic

A sensor goes missing or reads wrong

Sensor and curve modes can't see the heat any more, so the fans go to full speed instead of guessing.

Full speed

Your trial ends

Automatic is confirmed before restricted mode appears. Monitoring stays on and your profiles are kept.

Automatic

Use one fan-control app at a time. Two controllers write the same settings and fight.

A Mac fan control utility you can read at a glance.

Monitoring starts without an administrator prompt. Temperatures, fan speeds, power, battery and a rolling 30-minute history, where your Mac exposes those readings, with the essentials in the menu bar.

Auto

Automatic

macOS controls the fan. This is where every fan starts, and where it goes back to.

Fixed

Constant RPM

Manual fan control for your MacBook or desktop Mac: hold one speed between the fan's own minimum and maximum.

Sensor

Sensor-based

Pick any sensor. Speed ramps from minimum at a start temperature to maximum at a top temperature.

Curve

Custom fan curve

Drag two to ten points, or start from the Quiet, Balanced or Performance template. Speed is interpolated between points.

A mode applies to all fans by default, or to one fan only. Save any mix as a preset and switch it from the preset bar or the menu bar view.

Loud fan or a hot MacBook Pro? Start with the readings.

A fan running constantly and a Mac that feels hot are both questions about heat and airflow. AeroMac shows you both, then lets you choose the trade-off. It can't promise a temperature or a performance gain, and fan control can't fix a hardware fault.

How to quiet a loud Mac fan

  1. 1

    Find what's warm

Open the dashboard and check which sensor is climbing and how fast each fan is spinning.

  2. 2

    Pick the Quiet curve

Fans stay lower until temperatures rise. Your Mac will run warmer in exchange for less noise.

  3. 3

    Save it as a preset

Switch to it from the menu bar when you want quiet, and back to Automatic when you don't.

How to cool down a MacBook under heavy work

  1. 1

    Watch the hottest sensor

The Hottest tile and the 30-minute history show how heat builds during a long build, render or local AI job.

  2. 2

    Spin up earlier

The Performance curve, or Full Blast, moves more air sooner. Airflow is what AeroMac controls; the result depends on your Mac and the work.

  3. 3

Know when it isn't the fans

If a Mac stays hot at idle with its fans already at full speed, contact Apple Support. That points to something fan control can't change.

Apple Silicon fan control, built for Macs with fans.

The download page will list the exact models and macOS versions that have completed testing before the app is available.

Apple Silicon Macs with fans

The first release is being prepared for Apple Silicon Macs with fans, including the M1, M2, M3 and M4 families. A model is listed as supported only after it passes testing.

In testing

Intel Macs

Intel is outside the initial release scope. AeroMac V1 doesn't control or override fans on Intel Macs.

Not in V1

Fanless Macs, including MacBook Air

There's no fan to control. Available monitoring depends on their sensors.

Monitoring only

Sensor availability varies by model. AeroMac does not promise a particular temperature, performance gain, or compatibility with every future Mac or macOS release.

A little clarity before you start.

Plain answers about the helper, the trial, your licence and what happens when something goes wrong.

Why does fan control need an administrator password?

Reading sensors does not need special permission. Changing fan speeds uses a small privileged helper, installed only when you choose it and approve the administrator prompt. The helper accepts fan commands from the authorized AeroMac app. You can remove it in Settings → Helper.

What happens when my trial ends?

AeroMac returns fan control to system Automatic before restricting control features. Monitoring, help, profile export, Automatic and uninstall remain available. Your curves and profiles are preserved. After activation, choose Restore Saved Profile when you are ready to use it.

Does a paid licence need a permanent internet connection?

No. Purchase and initial activation need internet. A previously activated paid Mac keeps using V1 offline without a recurring renewal deadline. An unavailable licence service does not cancel your saved paid entitlement. New activations and receipt recovery still need an internet connection.

How do I move to a new Mac or recover a lost activation?

Use Deactivate This Mac on the old Mac, then activate the replacement. If the old Mac is lost, support can reset its activation after checking the order. If an activation response is interrupted, use the recovery instructions in the app before trying again, so you do not use another seat accidentally.

Will AeroMac stop my MacBook fan running constantly?

It shows you why the fans are running: which sensors are warm and how fast each fan spins. You can then choose a quieter curve, accepting a warmer Mac, or leave fans in Automatic. AeroMac does not promise a particular temperature or noise level. A Mac that runs its fans hard at idle may need a check by Apple Support.

Does AeroMac work on M1, M2, M3 and M4 Macs?

V1 is being prepared for Apple Silicon Macs with fans. The download page will list each model and macOS version that has completed testing before the app is available. Fanless Macs, including MacBook Air, have no fan to control. Intel Macs are outside the V1 scope.

What about other fan-control apps?

Use one controller at a time. Return your other controller to Automatic and quit it before controlling fans with AeroMac. AeroMac does not silently close other apps. If you are unsure, leave fans in Automatic.

How do I uninstall AeroMac?

Return fans to Automatic, uninstall the helper in Settings → Helper, quit AeroMac, then move the app to Trash. Your saved profiles and Keychain entitlement remain for a reinstall unless you choose to remove that data. Contact support if Automatic cannot be confirmed.

How do updates work?

V1 fixes and minor updates are included. You can check for updates manually or enable automatic checks in Settings. Update archives and feed information require signatures. A future paid V2 is optional and will not replace V1 automatically.

How do I get help?

The verified support address will be available here and in receipts before checkout opens. The proposed response target is two business days. Include the app version, Mac model, macOS version and steps that caused the issue. You can review and save a support report in Settings; it does not include your licence key, serial number or sensor history.

Clear terms, before checkout opens.

These are draft V1 policies. The seller identity, support contact, approved payment provider and final policy wording will be published before any purchase is possible.

Licence & updates

US$9.99 buys one person up to three active personal Mac installations of V1. You can continue using purchased V1, including free V1 fixes and minor updates. Future major upgrades may be separately priced and are optional. There is no subscription. Previously granted open-source permissions and third-party notices remain in force for the copies they cover.

Refunds

We propose a voluntary fourteen-day refund window from purchase. Contact the support address in your receipt with your order reference. Final merchant terms will be shown before checkout. Applicable statutory consumer rights remain unaffected. Please do not send payment-card details.

Privacy

Sensor readings, history and profiles stay on your Mac. No in-app analytics or automatic sensor-history uploads are implemented. Activation sends your licence key and an app-generated installation label to the licence provider; it does not send a Mac serial number. The entitlement is stored in your Mac's Keychain. Purchase takes place in hosted checkout. Update checks contact the configured update host, whose server may receive your IP address and ordinary request metadata. System profiling is disabled. Support reports are optional and shown for review before you save or share them.

Support & availability

The proposed support target is two business days. Offline paid use continues through a licence-provider outage, while new activations may have to wait. Support and update availability do not promise compatibility with every future OS or model. Any report of fan control failing to return to Automatic is treated as a control incident and investigated.

Release status: in preparation

No production download, checkout, signing publisher or tested-model claim is published yet. This preview lets you review the product, price and proposed policies while release checks are completed.

Download opens after release checks.

AeroMac will ship as a notarised download from aeromac.app, not the Mac App Store. Monitoring works straight away. The fan-control helper installs only when you choose it and approve the administrator prompt, and you can remove it from Settings → Helper.
